Your tasks


  • Develops the technical scope of the project and ensures that this scope is in line with the OMV business needs. Submits a Process Design Package (PDP) at the end of the SELECT phase.
  • Leads the integrated multidisciplinary project team and the overall project organization during ASSESS and SELECT phase, thereby performs resource planning during this phases. Works closely with the project owner at a tactical level.
  • Sets up and protects the Business Case and selects the best option to fulfill the business objective.
  • Manages the decision processes (e.g. Tollgates incl. preparations together with IGRs) for the phases in charge by ensuring process compliance and project presentation quality considering the needed information from the involved parties. Thereby develops defined gatekeeping deliverables.
  • Identifies and manages the project process stakeholders, consults them and make them familiar with the necessary company, industry and international standards, specifications and best practices.
  • Regularly reports project progress to senior management and/or the project owner + steering comittee. Ensures that relevant reporting systems are maintained.
  • Prepares the basis for option selection and management decisions and give clear recommendations to the management.
  • Ensures that relevant "Value Improving practices" are applied in due time and facilitated throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensures that all necessary 3rd party services required for the project development during ASSESS and SELECT phase is procured or contracted in time.
  • Ensures that relevant risk assessments are done during the SELECT phase. Actively manages project risks, ensures that risk management and risk acceptance criteria are in place and defined, risk response plans are elaborated and followed up by the relevant risk managers and owner.

Your profile


  • You have a Master Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
  • You have minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • In-depth technical and technological knowledge and experience in chemical process design and simulation.
  • Experience in project development, project management or technology and experience in leading project teams from different countries welcome.
  • Experience in working with project teams from international licensors and engineering firms and knowledge of refining and petrochemical processes and their economics.
  • Fluency in English and German, other languages are advantageous.
